Hands off Freetown Christiania! |

St. Petersburg's musicians, poets, artists staged a picket- performance on the John Lennon street, seeking to protect the "Freetown Christiania" in the Danish capital Copenhagen. Before the action one of its organizers, artist and poet Dmitry Kremnev presented to the Danish General Consulate a collective letter of protest. |
“For many years millions of tourists visited Christiania. The most offensive that the Danish authorities decided get rid from Christiania not for the reason one can smoke marijuana there or some political reasons but because they decided to give the district to the investors for the housing complex building” said Artyom Suslov, another organizer of the picket.
The participants of the action read their most freedom-loving poetry, performed songs with a guitar, made a little street performance.
Dmitry Kremnev said that at the present time a group of activists from around the world is going to implement the similar project of free settlement that named Sunland. "We hope that Sunland as a Christiania will be a worthy example of free, autonomous life" he remarked.
